“I just cant find the motivation to do anything.”
This happens to the best of us. I don’t know how I get anything done sometimes. It took me forever to get this article done. When I look back, I can’t believe how much I’ve been able to pull off considering how little motivation I’ve had at times in my life. This article is one that I needed to write because it’s the article I’m going to have to read in the future.
Let’s see how you can find motivation when you don’t feel like doing anything.
Find a purpose.
No, I’m NOT here to sing songs with you around the camp fire while we talk about how we’re so passionate about being passionate. I want to help you find a purpose so that you actually have a reason to hustle. Nobody can really hustle for the sake of hustling. What would you even do?
You need to find a purpose and a reason for hustling right now.
The whole point of this article is to attract readers to this page so that we get more listeners who will eventually turn into loyal customers. The whole point of this podcast is to help hustlers reach their goals. The point of that is to run a successful online business. There’s always a purpose for everything. It would make no sense to just complete random tasks.
I believe in setting ridiculous goals. So ridiculous that you have to change everything about yourself to reach them.
How do you find a purpose?
- Set a BOLD goal. What’s your audacious goal? Do you want to run a successful online business? Do you want to quit your job? Are you hoping to become a professional at what you do?
- Break it down. Break this goal down so that you know what you have to do next.
- Always take the next small step. Trust the hustle. Don’t worry about the final destination. Know where you want to go and take small steps to get there.
What’s your purpose going to be?
Watch an inspirational video on YouTube.

This is the easiest way to get over the slump. There are so many videos on YouTube that will amp you that it can become a distraction.
You can start off with this video…

Join a mastermind.
Are you in a mastermind? Do you surround yourself with like-minded folks? Are you around positive people?
I suggest that everyone read this finds a mastermind group to join.
What’s a mastermind all about?
According to Forbes:
“A group of smart people meet weekly, monthly, daily even if it makes sense, to tackle challenges and problems together. They lean on each other, give advice, share connections and do business with each other when appropriate. It’s very much peer-to-peer mentoring and if you are lucky enough to get invited to one, you will most likely see a marked change in yourself and your business.”
The beauty of technology is that your mastermind can meet online or in-person. It’s easier than ever to join a group of like-minded folks.
How will joining a mastermind help you find motivation?
- You’re going to be held accountable.
- You learn from others.
- You’re going to have to share your goals.
- You have to check in.
- You’re going to be around people who want to see you succeed.
- You cut out the negativity.
- You have support when you need it most.
- You get new ideas.
Join that mastermind or create one. Bring a diverse group of characters together and help each other grow.
Set a REALLY tiny goal.
“Focus on the moment, on what you can control right now. Not what may or may not be ahead.” — Ryan Holday
Funny story here. I sat down this evening to type out a few words. I ended up putting together a few articles. A small quota helps you get started. It’s kind of like stepping into the gym. You have to do SOMETHING at that point. You’re already there. If you leave your gym clothes by the door, you’re going to be force to actually go because you can’t make up excuses about not being able to find your gym shirt.
Tiny goals help you get to your big goals. When you set a really small daily goal, you suddenly aren’t so intimidated by the bigger picture.
Make a public bet with a friend.
I don’t know about you, but I hate losing more than I like winning. There’s no way that I’m ever going to let a friend beat me at something publicly.
To get in shape in the summer of 2016 I made a bed with my youngest brother. It was simply a bottle of vodka (I’m a highly ranked vodka drinker). We announced this bet on Facebook and it was on from there. I couldn’t miss a workout or eat poorly because I knew I had a bottle of vodka to win and a topless picture of myself to post.
Make a public bet with your friend. Don’t let losing become an option.
A few bonus tips for finding motivation.
I thought of a few similar tips that should give you that extra boost of motivation:
- Drink some coffee. There’s nothing like some caffeine to bring you to that next level.
- Blast the tunes. What gets you in the zone? Play that right now!
- Take a power nap. It’s okay if you need some rest. We won’t hold it against you.
Are you ready to get shit done? Apply one of these tips and let us know which one works best for you. We would also love to hear what gets you motivated to get work done.
